The Lawrence Township Citizens Council (LTCC) is one of the oldest and most active neighborhood organizations in the State. We are a nonprofit organization that has been in existence for nearly 30 years. Our purpose is to serve the Lawrence Township community on safety, environmental, zoning and other issues that effect neighborhoods in both Lawrence Township and the City of Lawrence.
The LTCC has in the past made donations to the City of Lawrence Fire Department, Lawrence Police Department, and needy families in the Lawrence area. Each year we have a fund-raiser that brings in thousands of dollars which are returned to our community in a variety of ways.
The year 2005 was a great one for the LTCC. The chili supper and sale of Zoo Books allowed this organization to support our community in many ways including giving $500 to the widow of the slain Lawrence Police officer Craig Herbert and purchasing three heart defibrillators, one each for Forest Glen School, Fall Creek Valley School and Lawrence North High School. Funds in excess of $4,000 were raised to purchase the defibrillators. In addition, funds in the amount of $1,200 were given to a Lawrence family who desperately needed help in buying food and paying for rent. All of these good things happen in Lawrence because a lot of good people like you support our organization.
The LTCC board members are all volunteers who love this community and work hard to help others in Lawrence. They are truly neighbors helping neighbors. I am very proud of each and every one of them. The LTCC board meets each month to discuss plans to support our community. The meetings are open to any and everyone interested in our community organization and the Lawrence community as a whole.

About Us
SEPT 2006
One of the most exciting projects this year (2006) was providing school supplies for two of our Township schools. The committee of Liz Coy (Chairperson) , Harvey Beasley, and Theresa Thompson worked very hard to gather new school items from local merchants, such as K-Mart, Wal-Mart, CVS Drugs storeand several others businesses. These three LTCC board members did an outstanding job for thiscommunntee and for the Great organization. The school supplies of backpack, paper, crayons were deliver to Harrison Hills and xxxxxx school. Our total expenditue was $1000.00.
OCT 2006
City Of Lawrence Fire Safety days was another successful project by your LTCC. In Sept LTCC memebrs Pam Jessup (Chairperson), Joy Knowles, Don Knowles, Harvey Beasly, Ron Ryker, Nell Walker, John Martin,and Don Temple, spent the day at Ft Harrison manning a booth for the LTCC. They gave away bottlesof water and and matrerial for the LTCC, plus they recruted new members for the LTCC. Great Job!!

On Oct 12, 2006 this organization voted to give the City of Lawrence $250.00 towards the purchase of Christmas decorations.
